How Cape Cellular referrals work
Every Cape Cellular subscriber has a referral code. When someone signs up with yours, you both get $20 off every month for as long as you're both on Cape, and Cape says four referrals make your plan free.
Cape's rules, in plain words
- Anyone can use your code: family, friends, neighbors, strangers online. Cape says so itself.
- Both of you save $20 every month, for as long as you're both subscribers.
- No limit on how many people you refer.
- Credits go up to your bill. It can reach $0, but past that Cape pays no cash and no extra credit.
- If someone who used your code cancels, the $20 they gave you ends with your next bill. If they come back, it starts again.
- If you cancel, the people who used your code keep their $20.
- The referral program is Cape's family plan. Nobody's accounts are linked: each person has their own account and code.
One family, step by step
Sam joins Cape with a referral code from a coworker. Sam pays $50, and the coworker's bill drops $20. Then Sam's partner, dad and sister sign up with Sam's code, one at a time:

Sam reached $0 with three people because Sam used a code too. Without one, Sam would start at $70 and need four, which is the four Cape talks about. A cousin who joins next on Sam's code still saves $20; Sam's bill just can't go below $0.
Where to share your code
Cape tells subscribers to share their code anywhere. On r/CapeCellular, members have asked people to use referral code sites rather than tacking a code onto every post, and plenty of people find a code by searching for one.

What one referral is worth
At today's prices, each person on your code takes $240 a year off your bill, until your bill reaches $0. The person who used it saves the same $240 a year, for as long as they stay. It doesn't matter whose code someone uses: every subscriber's code gives the same $20.
When a code stops paying
- When your bill is $0: new people on your code still save $20, you don't.
- When someone who used your code cancels: that one $20 stops.
- On cape.monster, a code leaves the deck only when enough of the people who tried it say it doesn't work. Its owner can feed it in again.
Questions people ask
How many people can I refer to Cape?
As many as you like, Cape says. Your credits stop growing once your bill reaches $0.
What happens if someone I referred cancels?
You lose the $20 a month their sign-up gave you, from your next bill. If they come back to Cape, the credit starts again.
Do I keep my discount if the person who referred me cancels?
Yes. Cape says people keep their $20 a month for as long as they stay, even if the person whose code they used cancels.
Does Cape pay cash for referrals past $0?
No. Once your bill reaches $0, Cape gives no more credits and no payouts for extra referrals.
Does it matter whose referral code I use?
No. Every subscriber's code gives you the same $20 off every month, and the person who shared it gets $20 off theirs.
